Description
This is a beautiful Vintage Art Nouveau Inkwell from France. It is made of cast white metal or pewter or a similar mix and signed N. Vidal, for Nicolas Vidal, a French artist who specialized in inkwells. It portrays an elegant naked woman with flowing hair in water surrounded by reeds on the base of the tray, bathing in a natural pool. It probably dates from around late 19th Century, circa 1880-1890.
The quality of the workmanship is excellent. The inkwell lid opens and closes and is in a good original condition, virtually on wear.
It contains an original ceramic inset to hold the ink, slightly damaged. The inkwell measures 8 ½” across by 7″ deep and 3″ tall.
This beautiful Inkwell will make a perfect present to any Art Nouveau style artifacts collector
OR for any Special occasion. Enjoy the vase!
